Who & What

HB Lacrosse provides a performance driven instructional service. We have developed what we call the "Got Rope" Program allowing us to provide the players with a high repetition of shots, focused learning, a high level of personalized instruction and a video technology that gives every player a visual learning tool as well.  Every player's shot is different but there are many fundamental points that must be in every shot to make it successful.  This changes depending on what kind of shot and where the shot is coming from.  Kevin Huntley and Jake Byrne have put together this program that teaches all the aspects of goal scoring from an Outside Room and Time shots to a Quick Release after getting Open Inside Off a Pick.  Keeping the groups to no more than 24 players per session gives every player a very direct, hands-on experience with Kevin and Jake.  The 24 players will be split into at least 3 smaller groups within the session.  This format lets Kevin and Jake get to know the players and tailor to their individual needs providing them with the knowledge to help every player take their game to the next level!  See our Got Rope Page for more information.

Kevin and Jake were teammates for 3 years at Johns Hopkins.  They played on the same attack line for those 3 years developing a great relationship, sharing many thoughts about creative ways to score and what makes different players effective goal scorers. They won NCAA Championships in 2005 and 2007 with Jake scoring the game winning goal in 05' and Kevin doing the same in 07'.  Since then, both of them have gone on to make an impact at the Pro level.  Jake was named a Western Conference All-Star and Kevin was awarded Rookie of the Year honors in the 2008 MLL season.
Acknowledged as two of the top goal scorers in the game today, they possess a deep understanding of how to shoot the ball. They have an even better knowledge of how to work with young players and how to provide them with the necessary tools and unique instruction to improve a players scoring ability.  They created this "Got Rope" Program based on what they have done as players and seen as coaches.  It was built understanding not one individual is the same, we do not want to make robots, we want to make creative goal scorers who can make things happen all over the field!

Kevin Huntley

Drafted 17th overall by the SanFrancisco Dragons in the MLL.  Then traded to the Los Angeles Riptide where they lost in the Semi-Finals in his first season.  He was awarded Rookie of the Year honors after setting a rookie goals record of 30 in 9 games which was previously held by a former Blue Jay Adam Donegar.  He was selected 5th overall in the NLL entry draft by the San Jose Stealth.

In college Kevin was a 2x All-American and 2x National Champion at Johns Hopkins University.  He finished his career with 108 goals, eighth in Hopkins history.  Named as a member of the Johns Hopkins All-Time Team, him and his dad Dave are the only father and son combination to win 2 National Championships.
